Setting Room Up-selling Prices

Configure room upgrade pricing with minimum and maximum rates, targeted upgrade paths and touchpoint settings to maximize upsell revenue.

Setup > Room Types

Info

There are 2 ways to upload up-selling prices: In a grid for all rooms ( Upgrade Prices Summary) or per room ( Manage Upgrade Prices).

Tips & Tricks:

1. Don't overwhelm your guests with too many upgrade options.  We suggest a maximum of 2 - 4 upgrade options.
2. Offer only upgrades that are applicable and attractive for the guest in the booked room type.

Upgrades to avoid:
  1. Change of bedding type: For example upgrade from King/Double room to Twin Rooms (and vice-versa).
  2. Not applicable for the occupancy: For example to offer an upgrade from a Single to a Family room; or from a Double to a Triple room.
  3. Big change in pricing and room type: For example from a Standard to a Presidential Suite.

Idea

1. Upgrade Prices Summary

Insert the minimum and maximum prices for upgrades from the "Room Type Booked" (vertical) to the selected "Upgrade Options" (horizontal). Leave it at zero if you don't want to offer upgrades between the room types.

Example below: If the guest booked a STD room, upgrades will be only offered to a SUP (40 - 74) and a JRS (70 - 100).

Depending on your package, you can offer different room upgrade prices to specific touchpoints.  Selling Touchpoints: All, Pre-Arrival, On-Arrival.

You will be able to set "offsets" later, under Manage Upgrade prices. More on offsets: Room Up-selling Offsets.

2. Manage Upgrade Prices
  1. Click on "Upgrade Prices" next to the room type that you want to edit.
  2. Select which touchpoint but the default would be set to "All"
  3. Click on "Add Upgrade Option" to add more upgrade options.
  4. Select the Room type to upgrade to and insert minimum and maximum price.
