How to Add an Upsell Using the On-Arrival Platform

This article and tutorial video demonstrates how Front Desk agents can add room and extra upsells using the On-Arrival Platform. It covers how to work with the Arrivals List, identify upselling opportunities, and add transactions directly to the system.
 

🧾 Working with the Arrivals List

To begin, go to the Arrivals List, where you’ll see all incoming guests.

You can filter the list by:

  • Reservation status

  • Check-in and check-out dates

  • Stay dates

  • Guest name

  • Pre-arrival upsell status

The list will show the following guest info:

  • Name

  • Arrival and departure dates

  • Room type booked

  • Number of guests

  • Opportunity Level: High, Normal, or Low (how likely the guest is to accept an upsell)


💬 Pre-Arrival Interactions

In the Pre-Arrival Interaction column, you can see how the guest engaged with their upsell email:

  • Did they open the email?

  • Did they view upgrade options?

  • Did they book an upsell?

This info helps you understand guest interest. For example:

  • If a guest viewed but did not purchase an upgrade, you might offer it again.

  • If a guest bought something already, you can check what was purchased by clicking into their profile.


⬆️ How to Add an Upsell

There are two ways to add an upgrade:


🟠 Option 1: From the Guest Profile

  1. Click into the guest’s reservation profile

  2. Click Upgrade

  3. View available room and extra upsells

  4. You’ll see:

    • Live availability

    • Prices

    • Your commission for each item

  5. Click Upgrade to confirm

  6. You can still add extras to the stay afterward


🟢 Option 2: Add Transaction (For Checked-in Guests)

  1. Click Add Transaction from the Arrivals List

  2. Choose the upsell item (room or extra)

  3. Check the price and quantity

  4. Add the item and click Save

This method is great if the guest is already checked in and the reservation is no longer editable in the PMS.
